Administrative Support Services

The Convener has engaged the Scottish Arbitration Centre to provide administrative support to the Convener and the Panels, including the coordination of training for the Panels.   The Centre is a private company providing an administrative service to the Convener and Panels, and is not involved with the substantial decision making of the Panels.  Katie Yule and Lynsey Kay are responsible for providing administrative support to the Convener and the Panels.  For more about the staffing structure of the Centre, click here.

The administrative services for the centre were initially funded by grants paid by the Scottish Government. In April 2016 Scottish Government began a procurement process for the provision of administrative services for the Convener and the Panels. The Convener and Panels are now funded through a services contract from the Scottish Government.  The services contract is to cover expenses related to the following:

  • Training and meeting accommodation and associated costs
  • Office accommodation and running costs

External legal services and fees for the Convener and Panel members are paid directly by the Scottish Government.
